Mob Killa – What If We Drink Coffee [RARE8]

Recently intercepted internal documents and decrypted cables from Rarefied Recordings Incorporated have indicated new activity within their R&D department. After Professor Sibla had slipped through our grasp somewhere around the interzone of the Alabama and Mississippi borders meet, Rarefied Recordings Incorporated began to reincorporate their R&D divisions across both Europe and Canada. The most notable being Germany’s Northern Black Forest Region in the Karlsruhe administrative region and isolated upper regions of Northern Ontario.

Both sites has proven especially difficult for both our in-house capture teams as well as PMC units to apprehend and rendition the HVTs to our German and Canadian detention facilities given the hostile nature of both the local population (most notable being the various strains of Ontarian secessionists who have been hostile to varying degrees of federal governmental agents) as well as the rugged environments of both biospheres. In-house forward operating laboratory facilities and operational security teams have been established for future surveillance operations as well to procure biological and ecological data from those past experiments for research.

While our forward operating bases have been established in Canada and Germany for over the past six months, new dispatches from our surveillance and information retrieval teams within the Netherlands have recently begun sending status reports of a new street narcotic gathered from primary and secondary sources as well as through data scraping activities. Simply called “Mob Killa”, this new narcotic has effected communities from Amsterdam proper to its environs; most notable being Hilversum, Amersfoort, Leiden, and Heerhugowaard.

Laboratory testing concluded that “Mob Killa” is a new synthetic opioid similar to desomorphine¹. However, the sedative effects are further amplified through massive aerial melatonin secretions that possess a wide dispersal area. Which, in effect, render mass groups subject to highly impressionable hypnagogic states; hence the name “mob killa” or as its sometimes referred to as “groeps moordenaar”, “GM” or “MK”.

After securing an adequate supply of homemade “MK” from a local drug gang for testing, our laboratory team found the following; due it its addictive properties, dosages were administered by our covert operatives has led our experiment group populations to suffer accelerated tissue damage and infection in comparison to control group populations of other opioid users. Tissue damage and infection rates were found to increase by 16% amongst illicit users as homemade versions our laboratories had tested were found to be made under inadequate conditions which contained multiple impurities and other toxic substances.

The first reported instance of some one being affected was reported in the newspaper De Stad Amersfoort in February 17th of this year which soon became widely circulated in the surrounding communities via FaceBook and other social media platforms. Lina de Jong, a local woman and relapsed addict reported a weird smell occurred shortly after she had last used which she described as “an off-putting cigarette smell”. She had “woken up” about thirty-four kilometers from her house with about six hours of unaccounted time. Local farmer Anders Meijer found her in his field and described her as suffering from a “ghost sleep”.

In the following weeks since the “De Jong Event”, more cases of similar incidents were reported as more and more opioid users were found in strange places, miles away from their last known location with missing recollections. As the problem began to take root, community meetings were held, health clinics were overwhelmed, local police presence and enforcement was implemented and politicians promised solutions (mostly an increase in police funding to fight drug trafficking), but to no avail.

It was decided after two months of testing on individual subjects that a need to measure and quantify the effects of how powerful the melatonin secretions were to a larger sample size. An action plan was developed to expose a large control group in an enclosed space and introduce a user of “MK”. The plan decided upon was to introduce “MK” during a rave called “Nation Nation” which was advertised as an underground and free party at an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the Heerhugowaard industrial park. Its distance from any other large gatherings of people as well as its distance from any emergency services and poor cell phone reception allowed our team to work in relative peace. About one hundred and forty attended when the subject was introduced.

Within seven minutes, the secretions had dispersed across the entire area and after thirty five minutes, the entire control group was under the influence of the melatonin secretion. Our mobile laboratory field team was dispatched to run additional physiological tests and to gauge how susceptible to suggestion test subjects were in their hypnagogic state. Simple repetitions such as “stand”, “sit”, and “frown” were obeyed almost immediately and more complex commands like “untie you shoes”, retrieve X object” and “speak” were obeyed within four to five utterances. Further research has been conducted upon groups after the first initial test was declared a success.

After the success of the “Nation Nation” test, a need to further scale up our efforts to see how powerful “MK” was introduced en masse. Hence Phase 2 of our “MK” experiments. A similar action plan [codename: What If We Drink Coffee²] was developed, but rather than introducing one or more users to a group, introduction into a town’s water supply was proposed to study “MK’s” effects on population centers. The small village of Harskamp (population 3,350) was suitable given its distance from Hilversum and its proximity to the National Park De Hoge Veluwe which would act as a buffer from outside encroachment.

In order to conduct this, security teams were deployed as road crew which diverted non-local traffic around Harskamp. Local wind patterns and as well weather conditions were closely monitored as to minimize potential wind gusts spreading the melatonin secretions. Pacification SOPs³ were developed in case of violent incidents such as car crashes, deaths or other negative instances. Clean-up SOPs were also developed to rid the area of our ecological and our physical presence. For usage on such a scale, our forward operating laboratory had synthesized their own supply after careful testing and analysis of the street level supply.

Operation WIWDC was executed on May 23rd 2018 and the wide spread effects were almost immediately noted. Neighborhood sweeps were conducts by multiple lab teams with appropriate pacification teams as support in case of violence. Of the 3,350 residents, nearly 83% were effected via first or second hand exposure. Those who were not effected via first or second hand exposure where effected in a tertiary sense by the mass melatonin cloud that blanked the town. Local ecosystems were impacted as well, most notable being mammalian and avian populations. In total, 97% of Harskamp was effected, while the remaining 3% had to be pacified.

Given the success our of past operations, it is my professional opinion that we move forward with further research and development of “MK” for usage in espionage, crowd control, interrogation, and warfare contexts. I have attached our laboratory’s findings and reports as well as any appropriate media from the areas mentioned. It is my intention that this summary of all the attached documents presents a compelling and reasonable case for the strengths, weaknesses, areas of improvement and potential financial benefit of mass production of such a drug.

¹ Desomorphine is a morphine analogue where the 6-hydroxyl group and the 7,8 double bond have been reduced. The traditional synthesis of desomorphine starts from α-chlorocodide, which is itself obtained by reacting thionyl chloride with codeine. By catalytic reduction, α- chlorocodide gives dihydrodesoxycodeine, which yields desomorphine on demethylation.

² What If We Drink Coffee will be written under the acronym WIWDC moving forward.

³ These SOPs have been included in the Appendix section.
