The past year has been a fruitful one for Sleeper, with three releases under Chestplate – CHST015, CHST017 and CHST023, featuring on GetDarker’s “This Is Dubstep 2012”, a forthcoming single on Osiris Music, and amongst touring the world; holding down Fabric’s Room 3 with the rest of the Chestplate gang. Having firmly developed a trademark sound around the 140bpm tempo, Sleeper has thrown himself into the deep end of the production game, and presented himself with a new challenge. Can he recreate his monstrous sound at a different tempo? With the engineering levels of Noisia and Neosignal having a great influence on his approach to building tracks this year, Alex has forced himself out of his comfort zone to expand the Sleeper experience.
“Enter” EP takes the talented producer back to his origins playing House and Techno at the age of 14. Fast forward to the present and the man has arrived full circle where it all began. A collection of dark, menacing, 4/4 energetic beats with riveting names such as “Alien Drones” or “Third Sequence”, we have arrived at the next chapter. This is Sleeper, and this is his take on Techno. The EP contains 10 tracks and will be available on his Bandcamp page January 1st.
