“From the day I’ve known your sound, you’ve been a loser”
Sings Brian and Tony Gold on their 1989 Dancehall classic ‘Pass The Dubplate’, a track about killing soundbwoys with their killer selections inside the dance. Suitably sampled then by Switzerland’s Phrex for his second 12” outing this time with ‘Goldplate’, a raw and organic dubbed out stepper complete with weighty subs and a slick bass-guitar riff. Of course, those who attend the Dubtopia sessions out in Switzerland will recognise the flip, a dreaded roller with a militant bassline in the form of ‘War Continues’. Both tracks make up an excellent debut entry for newly founded label, Cosmic Microwave.
To celebrate Phrex’s debut release on Cosmic Microwave, we’ve teamed up with the man himself to give one lucky individual a chance to win a copy of the record. To enter, simply LIKE & PUBLICLY share THIS PHOTO on your Facebook timeline.
The competition will close in one week – Wednesday August 26th – when a winner will be selected at random and notified via Facebook. Good luck.
CMR001 is released August 14th and available to purchase from Redeye, White Peach and Intense Records.
