Download: TRUTH – Surveillance Society

Having distinguished themselves’ with their formative and individual sound, Andre and Tristan have continually sought out quality production, with solid momentum moving into summer 2013. The originally New Zealand based duo has already seen two vinyl releases in 2013 so far. One on Tempa Records and the other on New Moon Recordings. Recently, they released an EP on the Canadian label Rottun Records. A label more known for it’s aggressive, mid ranged sounds. The “Foundation” EP does not sacrifice one ounce of TRUTH’s originality. I recommend taking a listen to the title track “Foundation”, which reps a strong David Rodigan sample. It speaks to the importance of a solid foundation in music, and knowing your roots. Being based now in western United States and entering the summer festival season, the two seek to push forward their sound system music in America which they craft so meticulously.

Earlier in 2012, TRUTH gave away an entire album for free. The album consists of 7 original productions, collaborations with Yayne, Crushington, Datsik and Kromestar, as well as several remixes from the likes of J:Kenzo, Kaiju, Dubtek and Perverse. The “Loves Shadow” LP saw tremendous support and recognition worldwide, as well as many digital downloads. These guys have been busy. TRUTH has reached some pinnacle milestones in there musical career. With over 50,000 facebook fans, 1 million plays on Soundcloud and 25,000+ soundcloud followers, Truth is furthering their generosity by offering up a truly awesome track entitled “Surveillance Society”. This track has seen top support from Youngsta on his Minimal Mondays show on London based Rinse FM.

I personally have had an ear out for this track for sometime. It is boasting that signature TRUTH touch on percussion. Swinging space between the kicks and bass surges push a nice sense of movement forward. Subtle chords accentuate an lingering sense of darkness. The variety of sounds taking precedence throughout this tune keeps it fresh past the second drop, while not escaping that deeper more minimal vibe. Take a moment to check this track out, and make sure to show some love and support by following their socials. Big shout out to Dre and Tristan!
