It’s been a while since I covered any fresh material from NZ’s TRUTH. Now down to two, after Julian Van Uden’s departure, the duo have been knocking out a sheer amount of quality tunes. A formidable representation of last year’s productions and current forthcomings were demonstrated across their two mini mixes, PART 1 and PART 2, on a host of exceptional labels; Wheel & Deal, Defy, Tuba, Get Darker, Black Box, Lovesick, Aquatic Lab, Boka and Deep Medi. Impressive to say the least.
More recently, the boys have been spoiling us with three short volumes of incredible mixes titled, “Truth Chronicles“. The Chronicles serve as an exposé of new material from not only themselves, but other artists making moves in the scene with their pristine productions. The likes include Crushington, Antiserum, Seven, District, Shredexx, Megalodon, Chewie & Dubtek, the mighty Kaiju, Ben Verse, DJ Madd, Amit and Peverse.
The featured tracks are unquestionably to a high level of standard, with TRUTH’s newest batch of dubplates being close to spectacular. Each track is built with a different level of atmospherics and picturesque melodies forming a unique collection, driven with character and caliber. There’s many to get excited about, so I’ve chosen five of my favourite that press my buttons. Out to TRUTH and the New Zealand crew.
